Boy Harsher's vibe is minimalist, beat driven and lyrically intense. Shipwrec Holland. GEWE 1 12". General Elektro Germany. Musically, it's a quietly impressive debut that features a sextet of tracks mostly built around gently undulating synthesizer arpeggio lines and moody electronics. Many of the tracks are stripped-back, hypnotic and beat-less, deriving their power from the relentless thrust of the arpeggio lines that ripple across the sound space.
Others, meanwhile, include ghostly electro drums or, in the case of the bombastic "Track 4", the kind of no-nonsense, kick-drum-driven beats that were once a feature of the greatest Electronic Body Music releases. Apt E Vol 2 hand-stamped 12". Forlorn Figures In Godforsaken Places 12". Mechatronica Music Germany. By Whatever Means Necessary 12". Running Circles 12". Roland Acid Again EP 12". Check first the picturesque melodies, dreamy chords, stargazing electronics and subtle acid flashes of four-to-the-floor jam "Always Something Else", before turning your attention to the intergalactic acid electro brilliance of EP standout "Roland Acid Again".
The producer's renowned love of mind-altering TB motifs once again comes to the floor on clanking but melodic flipside opener "PeanutButter Halloween Salt Mix ", while closing cut "Nov27" is a razor sharp slab of Chicago style acid jack laden with suitably alien electronics.
Laghan Pux EP 12". Musar Recordings Belgium. SH 12". Super Hexagon. Sure, the music is played week in and week out on plenty of sound systems, but this crew like to focus on those sounds exclusively They've snatched up UK electro producer, J. Wiltshere, who we've come to recognise as an impressive new talent on the streets thanks to a pair of releases for the mighty Hypercolour.
SH is the third instalment of the imprint, and "Large Mammals" gives the EP a worthy kick-start thanks to a raucous blend of gunshot percussion and metallic bass knots, which is further explored on the vicious bumps of the acid-ridden "Existential Energy".
Low Life City 12". Distant Worlds. Tagwell Woods heads up the pack with some lingering, poignant leads and tasteful wriggles, before Castel drops some seriously wiggy trance-out sounds into the mix all still very much on the sensitive tip, of course. Mihail P returns to Distant Worlds to open up the B-side with a slow, break fuelled funk and soul-stirring melancholy, before the always-excellent HOLOVR completes the set with a distinctive and delicate romp through finely sculpted electronica.
Raw Culture Italy. PP 12". Private Persons. This follow-up for Private Persons is seemingly inclined, moving from the gut-twisted sub-bass pulses, starburst electronics and curious drum machine programming of "PP", to the skittish, breakbeat-driven lo-fi techno assault of "B2B". In between, the publicity-shy, Moscow-based producer variously turns his hand to loose-and-funky, bass-heavy broken techno "Gallery" , metallic electro "C" and swinging, intelligent techno influenced late night science "Hotbed".
Throughout, the tracks retain an impressively atmospheric feel and speaker-bothering weightiness. Grit EP 12". This one comes courtesy of Xantrax, who first appeared on the label's inaugural various artists compilation - and he certainly ain't messing around here. The Marseille-based artist is clearly influenced by UK bass, as exemplified on the down and dirty off-kilter rumble of "Tekline". He doubles down on that one, inviting a true legend of the scene on board: Addison Groove gives us a real trippy electro-bass rendition, delivered in his idiosyncratic style as always.
Followed flip by the steely, street-level stepper "Linetek" and the intricate hypnotising riddims of "" on the flip. Propaganda straight from Warsaw, with their telecommunications-station based out of France. Building on a concept that draws influences from concrete post-punk and stable new-wave, among other genres. Their sound was virtually the same as it is now but a bit more unpolished and maybe also darker. They managed to self-release this EP which came out as a CD.
A year later a proper release of the same album came out, in December of Then something happened. A Black-Metal! Good for the band. Well, everything actually is pretty dandy. Enjoy it as much as you can! Oh how Montreal fosters our youth. Thrown in is the urgent vibe that no-wave creates with its messy undertones that are concocted well together with melodies — which makes this influence far too melodic to have the amelodic overtone that only no-wave can contribute with.
Not to mention how they use different instruments in perfect harmony, bringing a dark cabaret touch to their otherwise completely magnificent self-image. A must-listen for everyone of you at home longing for a proper crossover release and not a kitsch re-interpretation. Listen to the whole album down below. Although their sound can be found somewhere in between the minimal synth and new-wave categories, their rather complex structure and beautifully laden vocals make them unique to genres fond of taking it literally when translating a fixed category into something more.
With their new-wave sound, enchanting structures and pinpointed melodies — affect you in all the ways they might want you to feel. On the 30th of November they will go on a tour, hitting countries like Spain, France, Germany and Belgium. This track is so emotional and delivers a whole other insight to what minimal synth can sound like, when transformed by other genres which overlap or have less to do with a genre like synth-pop. Look out if you want to buy it, because soon it will be available from Desire Records.

When it comes to their post-punk, musically they have a touch of that melancholic sound that combines alternative rock, post-punk, new-wave and psychedelic influences. The up-tempo and melodic content that gets through the cracks thanks to an overt new-wave touch make it all the merrier to enjoy.
Though I am really not a fan of the post-punk that is underlying, when the sound is bridged to the chorus and back again. Because they unfortunately drift too far away from the originality they deliver with post-punk, when they grasp new-wave too much and almost delve into indie-pop territory. Other then that, I really enjoy the darker touches that gets applied to the sound-scape whenever post-punk seeps through the cracks and when you hear a psychedelic riff tearing through and bringing forth another part of a song.

The difference between this album and their first was that Zarkoff was included on vocals and the fact that it moved into electronic body music territory, having been very close to electro on the first release. This release in itself brings forth the qualities of real electronic body music — when mixed with darkwave and electro — how those three manifestations make for excellency.Jul 15, · Artist: Popsiminova Zarkoff Falling Down Tonight/Voluntary Work Camp Format: CDr, Mini Label: Catalog#: B10 Country: Croatia Released: http:/.
