The addition of the church end choir and a brass four piece helps bring. The bonus features are also very good. The NME awards performance is fantastic and the demo CD gives an insight into how the album took shape. All in all this is a wonderful package and possible the best DVD released in Noel's whole career.
One person found this helpful. This DVD set is a great edition, it has the live 02 concert, the album songs, documentary, and much more demos and stuff.
I was actually at this gig. It was a great show. Watching this on blu-ray is a million times better than standard DVD. The picture and sound quality are excellent. Also the extras are awesome too.
You get two short bonus gigs but are great. Even if you wasn't an Oasis fan I still think you'll like this. Noel Gallagher certainly was the one with the talent. I took receipt of this Blue ray The whole audio mix was crap, Gallagher's voice is distant the whole mix pathetic, Steven Wilsons material shines in comparison to this rubbish, but what else can you expect?
Loved it. As a result, the decision was taken to record "Lyla", a song which Noel had written and demoed a year previously, but which wasn't recorded by the band during the previous recording sessions.
It was decided that Dave Sardy would remix Noel's original demo with Liam recording a set of lead vocals and Zak adding a fresh drum track. After having initial reservations about the choice of the first single being taken out of the hands of the band, Noel, who initially wanted "Mucky Fingers" to be the first single, has now reluctantly conceded that the song has indeed "done the business".
While there was no official comment by Apple or by Oasis management, it was speculated that Apple simply got the dates confused. For as much as gruffer Liam is now unbound to be as thick-bricked and paisley as he wants to be, Noel has subtly allowed himself to also make the Oasis record he never could before.
He even stacked it with two tracks each ending a side on vinyl that have been lingering for years. Expressing his love for some football team or other called Man City, he then had a playful dig a the renaming of St James' Park which was met by a glorious backlash of chanting of 'Toon Toon, Black and White Army', he had no option but to quickly break into playing The Good Rebel, appropriate maybe!
Witty banter was flung back and forth throughout the night but the twisty faced Manc was letting his music talk.
