About two-thirds of the way through, he was having to cut off the one line, and start the other. I'm not now, and certainly wasn't then, self-assured or cocky, but I could hear what he was trying to do, so I walked up to the mic — which I'm really surprised I did — and sang the other part, " Going hungry, going hungry. In Canada, the song reached the top 50 on the Canadian Singles Chart. Cornell turns on the Robert Plant -style napalm full blast, but it is Vedder's scorched introspection that brings the conscience in the song to a full boil.

The original music video for "Hunger Strike" was directed by Paul Rachman who also directed the punk documentary American Hardcore. The video features the band performing the song on a beach and in a forest. The video was filmed at Discovery Park in Seattle , Washington. The West Point Lighthouse is featured in the video. Members of both bands were working on an album under the title Temple of the Dog to mark the passing of their friend, Mother Love Bone frontman Andrew Wood.

In a sense, he was making his own reality. In his mind, he was already a rock star and he was waiting for the rest of the world to figure it out.

Dec 31,  · Side one, with the strongest cut of all (Hunger Strike) following the two songs about Wood, and the records hardest tune (Pushin' Forward Back) following that, is reason enough to own it. Also Cornell's vocals on the piano driven ballad, Call Me A Dog, and the slow groovin' All Night Thing display a style and range much different from those on /5(1K).

Hij was het meest bekend van de bands Soundgarden en Audioslave maar was ook de initiatiefnemer achter Temple Of The Dog, een tribute band als eerbetoon aan de overleden Andrew Wood. Deze Wood, een goede vriend van Cornell, was de frontman van Mother.
