The way the cook the paella I was wandering around Potts Point in the evening and came across this place which looked like an old corner shop or pub turned into a wine bar. I checked the menu and was surprised to discover that it was Spanish. The options looked authentic Ended up ordering the "crispy gnocci" which was gnocci that had been cooked and was then tossed in a pan.
Admittedly it's not a specifically Spanish dish but I love gnocci, so couldn't pass it up. The gnocci were in fact crispy and when you bit them there was a crunch and then creamy gnocci. It was a really good dish, service was adept too. It had the air of a place that the locals adored, so a good neighbourhood restaurant with very good food.
I was visiting from interstate and decided to take the family there on our next trip to Sydney, and will do so when we can travel interstate again. The tapas menu was great and the dishes we had were delicious. Can strongly recommend the Paella. In particular the Seafood Paella. Buzzy atmosphere and the staff were very attentive.
When I first visited this place I thought the service was atrocious and vowed never to return but after much urging from friends I eventually succumbed to five them another try. I'm glad that I did as every subsequent visit - and there have been In the warmer weather it's been a delight to dine effectively on the street which is relatively quiet.
The food and wine has been exceptional each time and I've also been pleased to pay the bill as it seems a lot cheaper than expected. I personally follow my meals with my favourite Affogato with Amaretto but others enjoy the Churros in fact many come here now just for those More. Great food and atmosphere, I feel like i am hidden away on holiday in Spain every time I visit. Great wine selection, portions are generous as well be aware as we always Had breakfast here twice. Perfect place. Book a table for the weekend, many people know its good. Friendly and quick service, laid back style. Touch of Europe with an Ozzie sense of good service. They are 3.
